Drive Traffic To Your Website By Using Google Webmaster Tools

If you have involved in the process of designing and developing a website, then you make use of Google Webmaster tools, but you must know how to use it effectually. Google Webmaster Tools are considered to be the set of tools that enable webmasters to control and monitor their websites online.

The best thing about these tools is that they are completely free and all it requires is just a Google Account. After logging into the webmaster console, you can include all your websites to it and administer the interaction of Google Bots with your websites. This webmaster tool is definitely the best resource and if you are not deploying it to monitor your website, then you can make sure that you are missing a golden opportunity. When you use these tools, you will be allowed to diagnose the current issues and problems associated with the performance of your website.

How To Start With Google Webmaster Tools?

You can sign into the Webmaster Tools by entering your Gmail username and password. Then you should list all the websites in one place, especially if you have more than one site. You can find Add Button on the right side and, by clicking on it you can add your websites to the home page of the webmaster. Once you have added all your websites, just make a click on it for managing it.

After doing so, you will be able to see the crawl status, which reveals out the status of the Google Crawler. This enables you to understand how many web pages of your site have been indexed by Google. If there is any problem in fetching your data or if the tools have faced any errors, it will be shown in Green color.

Importance Of Google Webmaster Tools:

  • Google Webmaster Tools play an integral role in generating successful SEO strategies that improve the overall success of your business. It also helps in generating consistent and relevant traffic to your website. The information provided in Google Webmaster tools helps in identifying particular areas that have been highlighted by Google.
  • Keywords found on your website can be weighed with the search phrases typed into Google by your potential customers. This is extremely important to ensure that you are reaping the most out of SEO for your website.
  • The way your customers find your site is of great importance to a webmaster and it also shows the keywords that can be used to generate more traffic to your website. The search queries will be clearly presented with the listing of ranks so it is not only easier to understand but also to make changes.
  • Broken links, 404 errors, server errors, missing pages and denied access can prevent visitors from using your website correctly. Google can acknowledge the errors that it has found while crawling your website through webmaster tools.

All these gathered details can be used by web marketing specialists for improving your user experience and creating more traffic.

Benefits Of Using Google Webmaster Tools:

  • Google webmaster tools provide a platform for the individuals to submit the XML site map of their websites. Site Map is said to be the list of pages included in a website. In fact, these inner pages are arranged in a hierarchical manner in the site maps. These site maps are beneficial for webmasters as they can insist the search bots to crawl through the pages. In fact, it is also possible for the webmasters to know the number of pages on their sites has been filed.
  • Google Robots crawl and index those pages which can be beneficial for potential search engine results. The webmaster can access to this information through the dashboard of Webmaster Tools which allow them to fix any problems and gratify their website's potential.
  • Google webmaster tools also provide you with the facility of knowing the keywords that enable your site to get listed on the search engine result page. In addition, you can also know the number of users clicked on your website. This information enables you to identify the most familiar pages on your website.
  • Webmaster tools can also provide you with a list of both internal and external links to your website. You can also get the details of the websites that point to your sites.
  • Google Webmaster Tools enable you to access to the information about the aggregated and the average load time of various web pages of your site. The load time of the site is nothing but amount of time that a website takes to open on a web browser.
  • Google webmaster tools portray all sorts of errors such as broken links that occur on your website. Apart from this, you can also identify the links that drive traffic to an invalid page of your website. In short, you will be informed about the features of your website that confine access to your site visitors. Google webmaster tools also provide you with a list of URLs which have duplicate Meta description and title tags.

With all these benefits of Webmaster Tools, you can make a great difference in driving traffic to your website.

The Truth About SoLoMo (Social-Local-Mobile)

From what I read, it seems the latest trendy buzzword is “SoLoMo.” Everybody is talking and writing about social features, local business (i.e. coupons) and mobile applications. That’s fine, but if the Internet’s future is SoLoMo, why is Groupon postponing its IPO? Why is Facebook dropping Places and Local Deals? The truth, once again, is that the market is overreacting to a tarte-à-la-crèmenotion that cries out for some understanding.

Don’t get me wrong: I truly believe in the social and mobile revolutions. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing two blogs on these subjects (for you French speakers: MediasSociaux.fr andTerminauxAlternatifs.fr). My objective here is to help you better understand the opportunities and the limitations of SoLoMo.

How can you create social when everything already issocial?

It’s been approximatiely four years since we started hearing and reading about social media. In less than five years, newcomers like YouTube, Twitter or Tumblr have became audience behemoths. The social media wave is so huge that it has permanently shifted users’ expectations and habits. That said, you still have to figure out what to do with the elephant in the room: Facebook.

Facebook, is arguably the most popular social platform of Westerns countries, driving most attention and budgets. Except in very specific business cases, every brand has to be there.  But the problem is this: Grabbing users’ attention on Facebook means competing with their personal network (updates and photos from friends and family), towering brands (Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Harley-Davidson…) and planetary stars (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber…). How can an everyday brand break through in that overheated environment? Even if your brand will be on Facebook anyway, the hard truth is that you will have very few chances to grab users’ attention. To be more precise: Competition is so strong that you will have no choice but to attract members with ever more expensive gifts and coupons. And we all know that’s the worst way to start a brand-customer relation.

Another option would be to avoid direct competition on Facebook and to use Facebook Connect on your site to gather fans and “likes.” But again, you will be only one among an infinite number of websites providing social features through Facebook Connect. As if that’s not enough, the worst is that this pattern is also true on YouTube and Twitter. Back to square one: How to exist and differentiate?

Don’t confuse the recognition that the social gold rush is over with pessimism: All the quick-win tactics already have been tried by your competitors. So if you really want to use social media as a lever for business and profitability, envision a much more ambitious approach than a viral video or a Facebook Page.
First, every department in your organization should be involved in your social media presence: Communications, Marketing, CRM, HR, Quality, IT… Second, top management must also be involved in order to allow full transparency and honesty in the social interactions you should have with your (discussions, collaborative feedback, etc.).

Mobility is not only about the iPhone

The iPhone is to mobile Internet what Facebook is to social media: The tree that hides the forest. Even if the iPhone is the most emblematic smartphone on the market, it only represents a portion of the global market, in fact a portion shrinking by the day thanks to Google and its free Android mobile operating system. What we have witnessed since the launch of Android is only foreplay for Google’s strategy. For sure, the demand for iPhone is still quite strong and will continue that way with the upcoming iPhone5. But low-cost smartphones powered by Android will soon flood the market and ensure Google’s domination. So…if you think you’re safe because you’ve just launched or updated your iPhone application, think again.

Another trend to catch your attention: the advent of tablets and connected TV (Smartphone is the first step towards escaping PC dependency). Because these alternative devices have very specific display and interaction constraints, your entire online presence will be jeopardized in a couple of years. The good news is we know this is coming, and you still have some time to anticipate this shift (from desktop-based online usage to mobile and diversified usages).
The best way to prepare your brand and activity for this change is certainly not to subcontract the development of an iPad or a connected TV app. Of course, there is a long learning curve to master those platforms. But the real change is not about programming language or display constraints. Rather, it’s about users’ changing behaviors and expectations. So your priority should be to rethink your offer and your business model to better fit with those new behaviors and expectations.

Local business is more about local than business

Finally, we have the local deals tsunami. In less than three years, newcomers like Groupon managed to build an empire on local deals (hiring hundreds of local sales rep and acquiring European competitor CityDeal). Once considered as the new Eldorado of e-commerce, local deals are now suffering very bad press, and Groupon’s recurring rumors of near-bankrupty forced it to postpone its IPO to an “undefined” date.
But Groupon’s outrage shouldn’t make you underestimate the potential of local business empowered by social media and mobile devices. There is indeed lots of opportunity, but not for everyone (The Truth About Groupon: Yes, It Can Make Money – No, It Won’t Be Easy). To make a long story short: You need more than Facebook-spreaded local coupons to succeed in localizing your business.

Even if some can replicate the success of Twitter-empowered taco-like trucks and Foursquare-empowered trendy fashion shops and bars, adding a local dimension to your campaigns and offers is a long play. Once again, it’s not about choosing the right tool (Foursquare vs. Gowalla, Groupon vs. Living social), but, rather, about rethinking your customer policy and business model from a local perspective.

It’s all about change management and good content

Ok. If SoLoMo is not what they say but can still be considered as very disruptive, we arrive at THE question: Where do you start? My call would be to create a change-management program. As I said, sub-contracting a community manager or an iPhone app developer won’t help. To benefit from the SoLoMo revolution, you first must convince your staff to rethink your whole business approach around social, mobile and local perspectives. Once they share your vision and ambition, it will be far easier to implement the required changes in their daily work. Otherwise, you will suffer strong internal resistance that, in turn, slow the evolution process and eventually force you to sub-contract. You already heard what I said about that.

The second step would be to invest in quality content, which is what the Internet is all about content. Investing in quality content means betting on what has made the web so successful. With quality content, you can: Tell great stories that boost your brand (branded content); value your products (quality images and videos, full descriptions); create loyalty among your clients; improve your SEO; stimulate social interaction (comments, RTs, likes); extend the presence of your messages and offers; and develop new services and revenue opportunities.

In brief, it’s the content, stupid. No content = no business. iPhone apps, Facebook pages or local coupons will never compensate for a lack of quality content. Good content is the main ingredient to a reliable and profitable relation with your customers, one not based on low prices or coupons.

I’m the last guy to question the disruptive potential of mobility or social media. I’m just warning you against false expectations of SoLoMo. So click away from this post with this thought: Focus first on quality content, then on leveraging it thought social, local and mobile tactics.

Google Algorithmic Updates

We've seen plenty of algorithmic announcements made from the company over the course of the year. In November, they discussed ten recent changes they had made. Here's a recap of those:

Cross-language information retrieval updates: For queries in languages where limited web content is available (Afrikaans, Malay, Slovak, Swahili, Hindi, Norwegian, Serbian, Catalan, Maltese, Macedonian, Albanian, Slovenian, Welsh, Icelandic), we will now translate relevant English web pages and display the translated titles directly below the English titles in the search results. This feature was available previously in Korean, but only at the bottom of the page. Clicking on the translated titles will take you to pages translated from English into the query language.

Snippets with more page content and less header/menu content: This change helps us choose more relevant text to use in snippets. As we improve our understanding of web page structure, we are now more likely to pick text from the actual page content, and less likely to use text that is part of a header or menu.

Better page titles in search results by de-duplicating boilerplate anchors: We look at a number of signals when generating a page's title. One signal is the anchor text in links pointing to the page. We found that boilerplate links with duplicated anchor text are not as relevant, so we are putting less emphasis on these. The result is more relevant titles that are specific to the page's content.

Length-based autocomplete predictions in Russian: This improvement reduces the number of long, sometimes arbitrary query predictions in Russian. We will not make predictions that are very long in comparison either to the partial query or to the other predictions for that partial query. This is already our practice in English.

Extending application rich snippets: We recently announced rich snippets for applications. This enables people who are searching for software applications to see details, like cost and user reviews, within their search results. This change extends the coverage of application rich snippets, so they will be available more often.

Retiring a signal in Image search: As the web evolves, we often revisit signals that we launched in the past that no longer appear to have a significant impact. In this case, we decided to retire a signal in Image Search related to images that had references from multiple documents on the web.

Fresher, more recent results: As we announced just over a week ago, we've made a significant improvement to how we rank fresh content. This change impacts roughly 35 percent of total searches (around 6-10% of search results to a noticeable degree) and better determines the appropriate level of freshness for a given query.

Refining official page detection: We try hard to give our users the most relevant and authoritative results. With this change, we adjusted how we attempt to determine which pages are official. This will tend to rank official websites even higher in our ranking.

Improvements to date-restricted queries: We changed how we handle result freshness for queries where a user has chosen a specific date range. This helps ensure that users get the results that are most relevant for the date range that they specify.

Prediction fix for IME queries: This change improves how Autocomplete handles IME queries (queries which contain non-Latin characters). Autocomplete was previously storing the intermediate keystrokes needed to type each character, which would sometimes result in gibberish predictions for Hebrew, Russian and Arabic.

On Page SEO Factors

One of the most basic things which a webmaster should understand is how to do on page SEO and the on page SEO factors to consider when both creating a new website or when adding new content and pages to an existing website.

On page SEO predominantly pertains to tweaking your site's code, choosing the right keywords, and optimizing your content overall to make it more attractive and identifiable to Google and other search engines' web crawling bots so that they will in turn rank your site higher in the SERPs.

Here I've expanded on the major techniques which you should implement on your site if you want to rank and rank well at that. Keep in mind that the weight which search engines place on these techniques is subjective as no one knows for sure the algorithms behind Google's and other engine's ranking practices. No one factor is ever been unanimously considered to be more paramount than all others, so don't overlook any of these techniques. Most of them are quick and simple to implement, so there's really no reason not to, either.

Keyword On Page SEO Factors

I've said it before and I'll say it again: keywords are the gateways to your site and they play a huge role in on page SEO.

Once you know what is a good keyword and how to do keyword research, then you can find the keywords which you should be using for your on page SEO. WordPress combined with a good free SEO plugin like All in One SEO Pack makes implementing most of the following keyword related on page SEO factors simple as can be, but let's take a look at where we need to make sure to effectively use our keywords.

Keyword(s) In Title Tags - The title tag is the line of clickable text which appears in Google's SERPs for each ranking page. This is also the text which appears at the top of your browser's window in naming or identifying the page which you are currently browsing. It's important to work your best (most relevant, highest searched, lowest competition) keywords into your title tags as Google will consider this over most factors when indexing and ranking your page and in general in determining what it's about.

Keywords In Heading Tags - Effective use of heading tags helps Google know what is most important on your site, and what text it should pick out over the rest. It's been estimated that most people when opening a new page will first instinctively read the top left of your page before other elements. Consequently, your most important message using your most important keyword that you want to get across should be here and ideally using the H1 tag.

From here, less important keywords should be put in H2, and even less important but still noteworthy keywords should be in H3, and so on. An effective use of heading tags is a valuable skill to have in on page SEO.

Keywords In the Body - There is no substitute for good content, and in SEO a large part of good content is effectively including keywords where applicable. This means no over saturation because as I mentioned in the last chapter this will get you penalized and possibly de-indexed. A number of SEOers have argued for years over just the right saturation which will get you ranking well but not penalized and they have thrown out different figures to try to answer this magical ratio.

My advice is to not waste your time trying to crunch ratios as there is no perfect ratio. Besides, you have better things to do with your time and other ways to optimize your site. Just make it look natural and don't over think it and you'll be fine.

Words Surrounding Keywords - This all may seem a bit redundant, but the words around the keywords are just as important as the keywords which you include to begin with.

Google not only looks at the keywords which you are targeting, but it looks at the words surrounding them to get a better idea of what your site is about, not to mention that it does this to check you on keyword stuffing and make sure you're not doing anything "black hat" which could get you in trouble.

Keyword In Domain Name - This takes some careful planning, but many SEOers agree that this has a decent amount of bearing on how Google ranks a site for a keyword. In continuing with this point, you can set your site up as it expands to be more SEO friendly by naming subdomains after keywords, as well. So be as specific as possible when naming if you can. For example name a subdomain of a music site "Gibson-guitars" rather than just "guitars".

Note the use of the hyphen in the example. Hyphens represent spaces, so if you are using keywords in your URLs, break them up. While keywords in the subdomains don't carry quite as much weight as the top level of the domain, they're nonetheless important and helpful to Google in identifying what your site is about.

Google+ It's Already Good For Rankings

Google+ hasn't even been around 6 months yet, and it's considered a major player in the social media realm. It regularly draws comparisons to both Facebook and Twitter. But, Google+ does have one thing going for it that currently Facebook and Twitter doesn't: it's good for rankings... in Google. Imagine that.

At the BlogWorld Expo in L.A., Alltops, Guy Kawasaki and Human Business Works President Chris Brogan had a very interesting discussion about all things Google+.

During the session, a question was raised "Is there now connections between google plus and search rankings?" Brogan stated that:

"Google doesn't index all of Facebook right now. It's a lost cause for SEO, they're also no longer indexing Twitter. Google does index anything publicly for Google+"

It should be noted that Facebook doesn't allow it. Kawasaki chimed in that this is probably a direct result of the relationship between Facebook and Bing.

If you Google Chris Brogan's name, you'll see his Google+ stuff shooting up the rankings. The same holds true for anyone. When you post something publicly it'll begin working for you, he states "It's a Google thing".

Google+

Social networking has grown steadily in scope and importance over the last decade, and over the past few years, Facebook's position as the top dog of social networking services has been solid and unquestioned. Enter Google+. Google's attempts to step into the realm of social networking have been plentiful and almost undeniable failures, but Google+ is undoubtedly their strongest showing yet, and has the best chance of success. It is growing steadily in popularity, but how well does it work and what sets it apart from its competitors?

Social Networking, Google Style

Google has a long, tumultuous, and mostly unknown and ignored history with social networking. The following is a rundown of their previous attempts.

Orkut: As far as I am aware, this is Google's earliest and (until now) most successful attempt at a social networking platform. It didn't ever gained much popularity in the United States, but it is huge in Brazil to this day, and it also has a following in India and other various countries.

Open Social: Launched in 2007, it's not technically a social network in and of itself. Open Social is Google and MySpace's attempt to create a common programming interface that can be applied across several social networks, allowing programmers to easily integrate these networks into websites and other applications. This has largely been drowned out by Facebook.

Friend Connect: Launched in 2008, Friend Connect was Google's next attempt at a Facebook or MySpace style social network, but it took the approach of using various open standards (including Open Social) to create this network across different types of accounts and websites. I had not even heard of it until I started researching for this article.

Google Lively: This was Google's attempt to create Second Life style 3D environments that could be installed onto any website, where users could log in with their personas and interact with each other. It only lasted for a few months before it was discontinued in 2008.

Google Wave: This was a communications format that was intended to combine features from e-mail, message boards, and social networking schemes to enable a conversation-style information exchange (or wave) that could include various type of media added by various networked contributors. Google has basically abandoned the project, but it still exists under the name Apache Wave.

Google Buzz: A social network that has been integrated into Google's e-mail service, Gmail, since 2010. It allows people to share information with one another in a social networking format right inside the Gmail interface. Ironically, Google Buzz has barely generated any buzz at all.

Circles

Circles are the core concept of Google+, and the key feature that sets it apart from its competitors. Anybody you wish to communicate with goes into one or more of your "circles", or groups of people you know. You can have a circle of friends, a circle of co-workers, a circle of family members, etc, and nobody but you can see what circles you have or who is in them. Then when you write a status update, you also choose which circles to share it with. This makes privacy a breeze, a fact that sets Google+ firmly apart from Facebook, where privacy settings are terribly complex to manage and seem to change every few months. Even better, when you're setting up your personal information in Google+, there is a place in every field to specify with which circles that information is shared. For example, I have my phone number set up to only be visible by friends and family, but I have my profession set to be visible by all my circles. It's a snap. Then when you go to look at status updates that others have posted (which is in an interface similar to Facebook in basic appearance), you can filter the information by circles with just one click. It works extremely well, and you can color me impressed.

Hangouts

Another unique feature in Google+ is the concept of a hangout. A hangout is basically a video chat room, where you can invite friends and talk freely amongst each other. Webcams are becoming very widespread, and are even built into laptops and netbooks. It sounds great, but it is not without its setup. To even get started with hangouts, you are asked to download and install the "Google Voice and Video plugin", and then you have to find a fríend who is on Google+ (and is in one of your circles) who is willing to do the same thing. However, once you're done with all that, the streaming video seems to work flawlessly so long as you have a good internet connection. Even through the limited resources of a netbook, I didn't run into any hiccups. Once again, I'm impressed.

Missing Features

With all of its clean look and smooth operation, there are some features that are conspicuously missing from Google+. Most notably as of the writing of this article, Google+ lacks any way to set up an account for a business or organization (called "Pages" on Facebook). In fact, Google is actively taking down standard user accounts that are set up for organizations. They claim that they are working on some sort of platform for business accounts, but demand is high, so they risk alienating new users if they take too long. Another conspicuously absent feature is a way of setting up an event, or any sort of calendar entry for that matter.

Conclusion
Google+ is definitely a top-quality effort by Google to break into the social networking field, but only time will tell whether it can topple Facebook from its position as top dog in the pack. For my money, though, it has a good chance. It doesn't have all the features yet, but with its clean interface, simple no-brainer privacy, and fun methods of interaction, I highly recommend checking it out.

Google PageRank And +1

Let me start off by being very clear. Google is not getting rid of PageRank in favor of the +1 button. Google is, however, looking at the data from the +1 button as a signal of content quality, and +1s will no doubt continue to be largely coveted by webmasters and content creators web-wide.

Will +1s become more important than PageRank?

It's been pretty clear since Google first announced the +1 button (even before they announced Google+) that the feature was designed to send Google signals for quality content. It was essentially billed as a way for web users to tell Google when a piece of content is good enough to be a good search result.

Wired is running a story now saying that Google has confirmed its plans of turning the button into "a crowdsourcing tool that helps re-order search results and fight web spam".

"Google will study the clicks on +1 buttons as a signal that influences the ranking and appearance of websites in search results," a Google spokesperson is quoted as saying. "The purpose of any ranking signal is to improve overall search quality. For +1's and other social ranking signals, as with any new ranking signal, we'll be starting carefully and learning how those signals are related to quality."

Of course it is unwise to place too much emphasis on just a single ranking signal. At least that's what Google would have webmasters believe. They're tossing around very similar language with regard to the +1 button ranking as they historically have when people worry about PageRank too much: "There are more than 200 signals that we use to determine the rank of a website, and last year we made more than 500 improvements to the algorithm."

Just as you've seen plenty trying to boost their PageRank through black hat tactics, it does not seem unreasonable to assume that these same people will try to exploit the +1 button. A major weapon against this that Google has is its strict Google+ account name policy, which has been a bit controversial thus far.

It became clear in recent days that Google+ is all about identity as far as Google is concerned. Eric Schmidt drove this point home, as discussed here. While this makes sense for a variety of reasons (including the potential integration of Google+ with products like Google Wallet), it also makes a great deal of sense in that it shows Google exactly who is +1ing what, which should in turn help them enforce any policy (current or future) concerning abuse of the button for gaming search.

In terms of white hat tactics, you may do well to consider things like this research comScore just shared+1's now mean more sharing of content to the actual Google+ network - people's circles, which should (in theory) translate to increased traffic from Google+ itself. So, it may help to know about the kinds of people who are using Google+, as opposed to Facebook, for example. comScore's data looks at those searches containing the Google+ and Facebook brands. It's probably not exact, but many of those searching for Google+ content are likely going to be users of the service.

"The most striking differences between Google+ searchers and Facebook searchers are in Age and Income level," says Eli Goodman, who leads the business development team at comScore. "Google+ searchers overwhelmingly skew towards 18-34 year olds. Clearly Google+ is a popular brand with the younger segments, and good knowledge for Google to have as they develop their acquisition strategy and evolve their user base. Since Facebook is a much more mature brand in the social networking space, their search audience falls closely in line with the search population at large."

"The income skews are even more distinct, essentially polar opposites of each other," he adds. "More than 32% of Google+ searchers have a household income of $100K or greater, compared to 23% of Facebook searchers. Google+ is definitely off to a fast start in reaching the most desirable income segments, which may make it more attractive to advertisers."

Google's quest for quality

In terms of Google using the +1 button as a way to combat spam, this also goes hand in hand with another new(ish) announcement from Google that it is calling upon users to report scrapers in some new algorithm testing.

"We are asking for examples, and may use data you submit to test and improve our algorithms," the company says on a "Report Scraper Pages" form, found here.

This followed another recent announcement from Cutts about a major refresh to Google's spam reporting process.

Google seems to be putting more emphasis on quality of results than ever before (I haven't even mentioned the Panda update in this article…or the domain blocking tools Google launched this year). It does appear that Google's grand social plan with Google+ is a major factor in that, and is sure to have everyone clamoring for +1s, which will not only provide a boost in ranking signals for content, but potentially traffic from the social network itself. And you can bet that WHO is +1ing things matters, just like with PageRank - WHO you're getting links from matters.

Between things like Google's emphasis on identity with Google+ itself and the authorship markup it's pushing(which links people to their Google profiles), it's clear that who you are matters in the Google world, and that also means that it matters who THEY (the people +1ing your content) undoubtedly matters too. Build your personal brand.

Nurture Leads With Email Marketing

According to MarketingSherpa, 70% of your leads will end up buying something from you or one of your competitors, but they won‟t do it right away! Companies that build relationships with their leads over time have the greatest success in turning leads into customers by staying top-of-mind until the lead is ready to buy.
Lead nurturing is the process of developing that relationship with your potential customer by sending targeted, relevant, and valuable messages to them in a timely manner. The end goal is to get your leads to “raise their hand” and self-select into further engaging with your business. Forrester Research found that companies that excel at lead nurturing are able to generate 50% more sales-ready leads at 33% lower cost-per-lead.

Email Marketing Best Practices:

List-Building
Create opt-in opportunities. Make sure your lead forms allow your website visitors to enter their email address and opt-in to receive your messages.

Give people a reason to opt-in. Whether it‟s a landing page for an ebook or an email newsletter subscription form, make sure you give people a compelling reason to opt-in. What‟s so valuable about your ebook? What interesting and unique information will they receive in your email newsletter? Be explicit and phrase the benefit(s) in terms of your recipient.

Would I be upset if I didn‟t receive your message? Only send messages to people who have explicitly opted in. You can follow the extreme principle of Seth Godin‟s Permission Marketing: Would your recipient be upset if they didn‟t receive your message? If yes, you should go ahead and send your email.

Sending

Stay relevant. What was your lead interested in? Did they download your “5 Tips for Using QuickBooks to Manage Your Business” ebook? Or did they read your blog article on “How to Get Your Business Listed in Google Places”? Send them an email with more resources targeted to their interests.

Get personal. Use a name and email address in the “from” line of your email that your recipients will recognize. Personalize the message so the recipient remembers how and why they came to your website. For example, start with “You recently checked out our ebook…” or “Thanks for subscribing to our blog!”

WIIFM? At the end of the day, make sure that your message adds value. Get into the mind of your recipient and ask, “What‟s In It For Me?” (WIIFM) Are you emailing them just to tell them how great your product is? Or are you offering to help solve a problem they‟re facing? Make the value clear in both the email body and the subject line.

Don‟t rely on images. Many email clients don‟t load images automatically, so if your email is one large image, your recipient won‟t have any idea what it‟s about! Use images as supplementary (clickable) content in your email, and make sure you have enough text to communicate value.

Be consistent. You want your recipients to expect and look forward to your messages. Whether you send your messages daily, weekly, or monthly, pick a schedule and stick to it.

Don‟t let the law get you down. Brush up on CAN-SPAM regulations to make sure your email practices comply.

Lead nurturing is all about developing relationships with your leads, so keep in mind that this does not have to be limited to email communication. Think about how you can communicate with your leads via social media or another platform they use.

Some Information on Google SandBox

At the beginning of 2004, a new term appeared among SEO experts – Google SandBox. This is the name of a new Google spam filter that excludes new sites from search results. The work of the SandBox filter results for virtually any phrase of sites that have high-quality unique content and which are promoted using legitimate techniques.

The SandBox is applied only to the English segment of the Internet; sites in other languages are not yet affected by this filter. It is assumed that the aim of the SandBox filter is to exclude spam sites – indeed, no search spammer will be able to wait for months until he gets the necessary results. However, many perfectly valid new sites suffer the consequences. So far, there is no precise information as to what the SandBox filter actually is. Here are some assumptions based on practical SEO experience:

   - SandBox is a filter that is applied to new sites. A new site is put in the sandbox and is kept there for some time until the search engine starts treating it as a normal site.

   - SandBox is a filter applied to new inbound links to new sites. There is a fundamental difference between this and the previous assumption: the filter is not based on the age of the site, but on the age of inbound links to the site. In other words, Google treats the site normally but it refuses to acknowledge any inbound links to it unless they have existed for several months.
It is hard to say which of these assumptions is accurate; it is quite possible that they are both right.

The site may be kept in the sandbox from 3 months to a year or more. It has also been noticed that sites are released from the sandbox in batches. All sites created within a certain time period are put into the same group and they are eventually all released at the same time. Thus, individual sites in a group can spend different times in the sandbox depending where they were in the group capture-release cycle.

Indexing A Site

Before a site appears in search results, a search engine must index it. An indexed site will have been visited and analyzed by a search robot with relevant information saved in the search engine database. If a page is present in the search engine index, it can be displayed in search results otherwise, the search engine cannot know anything about it and it cannot display information from the page.

There are two ways to allow a search engine to learn about a new site:

   - Submit the address of the site manually using a form associated with the search engine, if available. In this case, you are the one who informs the search engine about the new site and its address goes into the queue for indexing. Only the main page of the site needs to be added, the search robot will find the rest of pages by following links.

   - Let the search robot find the site on its own. If there is at least one inbound link to your resource from other indexed resources, the search robot will soon visit and index your site. In most cases, this method is recommended. This may actually be quicker than manually adding it to the submission queue. The Google search engine is the quickest of the bunch.

Try to make your site friendly to search robots by following these rules:

   - Try to make any page of your site reachable from the main page in not more than three mouse clicks. If the structure of the site does not allow you to do this, create a so-called site map that will allow this rule to be observed.

   - Remember that search engines index no more than the first 100-200 KB of text on a page. Hence, the following rule – do not use pages with text larger than 100 KB if you want them to be indexed completely.

You can manage the behavior of search robots using the file robots.txt. This file allows you to explicitly permit or forbid them to index particular pages on your site.

The databases of search engines are constantly being updated; records in them may change, disappear and reappear. That is why the number of indexed pages on your site may sometimes vary. One of the most common reasons for a page to disappear from indexes is server unavailability. This means that the search robot could not access it at the time it was attempting to index the site. After the server is restarted, the site should eventually reappear in the index.

You should note that the more inbound links your site has, the more quickly it gets re-indexed. You can track the process of indexing your site by analyzing server log files where all visits of search robots are logged.

What Is Online Marketing?

Online marketing or Internet-based marketing can be defined as the use of the internet and related digital technologies to achieve marketing objectives .It is a combination of activities and analysis used to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

Search Engine Ideology

To understand the seo process you must know about the architecture of search engines. Search engine contains the following components:
Spider+Crawler+Indexer component group might be implemented as a single program that downloads web pages, analyzes them and then uses their links to find new resources.

Spider. This program downloads web pages just like a web browser. The difference is that a browser displays the information presented on each page (text, graphics, etc.) while a spider does not have any visual components and works directly with the underlying HTML code of the page.

Crawler. This program finds all links on each page. Its task is to determine where the spider should go either by evaluating the links or according to a predefined list of addresses. The crawler follows these links and tries to find documents not already known to the search engine.

Indexer. This component parses each page and analyzes the various elements, such as text, headers, structural or stylistic features, special HTML tags, etc.

Database. This is the storage area for the data that the search engine downloads and analyzes. Sometimes it is called the index of the search engine.

Results Engine. The results engine ranks pages. It determines which pages best match a user's query and in what order the pages should be listed. This is done according to the ranking algorithms of the search engine.

Web server. The search engine web server usually contains a HTML page with an input field where the user can specify the search query he or she is interested in. The web server is also responsible for displaying search results to the user in the form of an HTML page.

Spider+Crawler+Indexer component group might be implemented as a single program that downloads web pages, analyzes them and then uses their links to find new resources.

Some Common Mistakes In SEO

There are some common mistakes which we include in our SEO process, avoid these mistakes to effectively run your SEO campaign.

Graphic header

Very often sites are designed with a graphic header. Often, we see an image of the company logo occupying the full-page width. Do not do it! The upper part of a page is a very valuable place where you should insert your most important keywords for best seo.
In case of a graphic image, that prime position is wasted since search engines cannot make use of images. If you must present a logo, the best way is to use a hybrid approach – place the graphic logo at the top of each page and size it so that it does not occupy its entire width. Use a text header to make up the rest of the width.

Script navigation

Sometimes scripts are used for site navigation. As a seo, you should understand that search engines cannot read or execute scripts. Thus, a link specified with the help of a script will not be available to the search engine, the search robot will not follow it and so parts of your site will not be indexed. If you use site navigation scripts then you must provide regular HTML duplicates to make them visible to everyone – your human visitors and the search robots.

Session identifier

Some sites use session identifiers. This means that each visitor gets a unique parameter (&session_id=) when he or she arrives at the site. This ID is added to the address of each page visited on the site. Session IDs help site owners to collect useful statistics, including information about visitors' behavior. However, from the point of view of a search robot, a page with a new address is a brand new page. This means that, each time the search robot comes to such a site, it will get a new session identifier and will consider the pages as new ones whenever it visits them.  If you are interested in seo for your site, I recommend that you avoid session identifiers if possible.

Redirects
Redirects make site analysis more difficult for search robots, with resulting adverse effects on seo. Do not use redirects unless there is a clear reason for doing so.

Hidden text, a deceptive seo method

The last two issues are not really mistakes but deliberate attempts to deceive search engines using illicit seo methods. Hidden text (when the text color coincides with the background color, for example) allows site owners to cram a page with their desired keywords without affecting page logic or visual layout. Such text is invisible to human visitors but will be seen by search robots. The use of such deceptive optimization methods may result in banning of the site. It could be excluded from the index (database) of the search engine.     This is another deceptive seo technique. Search engines consider the use of tiny, almost invisible, graphic image links just one pixel wide and high as an attempt at deception, which may lead to a site ban.

A lot of work is going on in the field of search engine optimization. SEO services company India executives work towards making a website rank higher when search is made using specific keywords on a search engine. The question one may ask is why is this needed at all? Nothing is done without a reason.

Internet being a web of millions and millions of pages, just launching a website does not guarantee hits. For a business relying heavily on online promotion and business generation, revenues won’t just come with the business going online. This is because when a person searches for something relevant using a keyword, multiple results come and websites not well optimized will see themselves being listed on pages far behind in number from the first few. These are unlikely to get hits. This may happen in the rare case of nothing worthwhile being present on the first few pages. Websites that get listed on the first page get maximum number of hits. This is where Indian SEO services come into the picture.

One may opt for sponsored listings wherein one would pay for getting the top listing on the first page for the relevant keywords. An effective, long term and stable solution would be to work on the content and optimize the website so as to by itself rank higher in search engine result pages. For this purpose services of SEO Company may be used.

This is just one of the methodologies employed. A number of techniques are available for increasing traffic to a website in real terms. Paid listing also being one technique is not a permanent solution. It may be a once in a while strategy to get more hits but the importance of a long term plan for the same cannot be ignored at all.

SEO services company India, having worked with many clients has the skilled manpower and technical know how to get hits for the website as specified. Search Engine Optimization Marks an Act of Continued Diligence

The relevance of activities to do with SEO has been and continues to be emphasized on. It takes efforts of all kinds to eventually rank a website higher on the search engine result pages. The techniques can be on page or off page. Both happen to be equally important techniques. SEO services India are increasingly being recognized in the field.

Indian SEO services have been at the forefront of taking up such projects on behalf of their clients. Site or page tagging is an essential. It is imperative to be focused on title tags and description tags. Then, it is the site map which is a deciding factor. The XML based site map which holds all details about pages, including the details about the pages being updated, goes a long way in making the pages rank higher.

SEO services India is also handling work pertaining to managing the content on the websites. The data needs to be updated often and should be in sync with the search patterns of people. A search engine while ranking pages assesses the links that are going to a particular page and analyses their relevance. Broken links often affect the chance of a site being ranked higher.

A combination of all these and a multitude of other factors need to be kept in mind. A focused, goal oriented long-term approach is required. For an e-commerce business with focus on core business and all efforts being directed towards marketing, promotion and increasing sales, Indian SEO services can serve to be a good option for giving a specialist’s touch to the job. With search engine algorithms being changed frequently and a lot of technicality that needs to be understood, SEO Company India with its keen focus on the job has a good track record in the business.

The research in this field can be assisted by the many tools available online but one cannot afford to solely depend on them. Detailed research needs to be done through alternate means. SEO services company India has the tools, techniques for the same and also possesses experience in the area to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze data and to strategize further in keeping with the same.

The world has come to recognize that each service requires a lot of attention to detail. We can try as much we may want to but trying to be an ace at everything is manageable only if we have the luxury of time. In the world that we live in, time is a severe constraint. SEO Company India can deliver time oriented results as requirements keep changing with time, especially in the virtual world which is as fluid as it gets.
